Montefalco Sangrantino is a red wine from Umbria, typically powerful and with great depth of flavor. The core style is dry, though passito sweet wines may also be made. DOCG status was granted in 1992; until 2009 the appellation was known as Sagrantino di Montefalco.

Arnaldo Caprai is a leading Umbrian wine estate based in Montefalco, and particularly known for its classic examples of the Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG wines.

It is beautiful product of Sagrantino, a deeply colored red wine grape variety grown mainly in the Umbria region of Central Italy. It is often described as Italy's most tannic variety, exceeding even Nebbiolo in this respect.

This wine ages for about 22 months in barriques, and for a further 6 months in bottle.
