This red wine is a result of Chianti blend.
Chianti Blend refers to classic, long-established combination of wine grapes used in the wines of Chianti and other parts of Tuscany. The blend’s primary constituent is Tuscany's favorite grape variety, Sangiovese. This can be accompanied by small quantities of lesser-known Tuscan grape varieties Canaiolo, Colorino, Ciliegiolo and Mammolo.
15 years old vines site at 120-190 meters above sea level on limestone soils rich of marls and sandstone, South facing which are grown organically.
Plunged by hand or by foot in the gentlest way possible, the grapes are accompanied through the process by delicate plunging and sometimes pumps over. In these conditions, 10/15 days of maceration are sufficient for a full extraction of the aromas and quality tannis. After racking, the wine is allowed to briefly settle. Then, thtough graviry, it enters lightly toasted Frenk oak barrels, 5% new, where it completes malolatic fermentation.
Aging is done for 12 months for 40% in concrete vats, for 60% in second-hand barriques.
